Trend Micro released HouseCall antivirus programs for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 as well as Mac OS X and Android. All of these antivirus programs are based on the core HouseCall application, which is one that is not installed on a computer, but is downloaded from the Internet instead. This program scans and removes malware, viruses, worms and Trojans, among other things.
Trend Micro's HouseCall antivirus program differs from most other antivirus programs. Most antivirus programs are installed on a computer and run continuously to scan for and remove malicious software. HouseCall, on the other hand, does not install to a computer when it is downloaded and the application runs. Instead, HouseCall scans for and removes threats without installing to the computer. This makes it an effective tool for removing malicious software from computers that do not have antivirus software already installed.
HouseCall supports 32- and 64-bit versions of recent Windows operating systems, and it supports all versions of the Mac OS after 10.7. Android support is offered, and works by scanning a mobile device for apps that have malicious software embedded in them. The wide range of operating systems supported by HouseCall makes it possible to have a safe and secure computing environment virtually anywhere.
