If you have an iPad fourth generation or newer, you need a Lightning to HDMI adapter. Older iPads require a 30-pin adapter.
Connect the HDMI adapter into the bottom port of your iPad. Plug one end of the HDMI cable into the opposite end of the adapter. Connect the other end of the HDMI cable into an input port on your TV.
Turn your TV on. Using the TV remote, change the input of the TV to match the video input port you connected your iPad to. The contents on the iPad are mirrored onto your TV. If you own an AppleTV, you can also mirror the content on your iPad onto your television. Connect your iPad and your AppleTV to the same wireless network. On the iPad, swipe upwards from the bottom of the screen. Select the Airplay option and then tap the Mirroring button. The contents of your iPad are mirrored onto your television.
