Square Register - Point of Sale, PassWallet - Passbook and FidMe are three passbook application for iOS, Android and BlackBerry platforms, respectively. All three are available for free.
Square Register is a passbook application that offers business-level features. With the additional hardware from Square, Inc., the application receives payment from credit, debit and EMV chip cards. The application accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover and AMEX cards. It keeps track of all transactions, can send invoices, customize products with photos, and send receipts via email or text. Square Register requires iOS 7.0 and up.
PassWallet is an Android passbook alternative that can store tickets, coupons, boarding passes and more. The application is compatible with Apple's .pkpass format and can open passbooks created in the Apple Passbook application. It can also create a backup of all passes on a cloud server. Although the application is free, it offers various in-app purchases. PassWallet - Passbook works on Android versions 2.3 and newer.
Developed for BlackBerry phones, FidMe is a passbook application that can create mobile payment cards. Customers can then use their phones as a payment device by showing the barcode on their screen. The developer suggests turning the brightness up when making purchases to avoid scan issues. For when the barcode does not work, the application can also create card numbers.
