Hudl is a Web-based database, mobile app and sports platform that allows high school football teams to post a team roster, announcements, practice and game schedules, video highlights of games, and player statistics. The sports platform's users include grade schools, high schools, college athletic programs and private sports teams, and it is not solely reserved for football.
Hudl hosts private groups for each team and allows coaches and administrators to invite players, parents, sports recruiters and additional coaches to view potential plays and workout routines, video clips of practices and games, and schedules. The platform allows administrators to send reminders and notifications via email or text messaging. Members of the group can also communicate with each other and comment on posts on Hudl.
Members can access the application on the Hudl website with a login provided by a group administrator. Players, parents and coaches can also download the Hudl mobile app to access the features of the program on their devices.
The Hudl team launched the service in 2006 and holds headquarters in Lincoln, Nebraska. The team works with coaches and teams to customize the program to fit their needs. A team of developers consults with the coaches and determines the features to include on the group's platform depending upon the number of users anticipated.
