ZipList, the grocery shopping list and recipe database platform, was shut down on December 10, 2014. The service, which hosted thousands of recipes in a partnership with Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Inc, was designed as a tool to help make grocery shopping and meal planning easier.
Launching on February 16, 2010, ZipList was a service that enabled users to create shopping lists online, share them with other account holders and update these lists via email and mobile. Also included as part of the platform was the ability to take recipes found on the Web and save them to what ZipList called a "recipe box."
After multimedia company Condé Nast acquired the start up in April 2014, several new features were added, including recipe and shopping list recommendations. In spite of the many improvements the company made to ZipList, the service was ended on December 10, 2014.
