The H&R Block website has two options to check the status of a federal tax refund. If the taxes were filed with H&R Block, an E-file Status tool allows users to get information about their refunds. There is also a link to the IRS "Where's My Refund?" page.
The E-file Status tool requires users to select an option based on how they filed and provide personal details in order to get information about their refunds. The customer must list a Social Security number, last name and date of birth.
The IRS tool also requires a Social Security number for inquiries about tax refunds. In addition, users must provide their filing status and the exact amounts of their refunds in order to get information.
