Some tests to prove your Microsoft Word skills are available on websites such as Skills-Assessment.net, WizIQ.com and ISOGrad.com. These sites also provide tests for other Microsoft programs, including Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
ISOGrad.com provides a skills assessment test for Microsoft Word 2007, 2010 and 2013. It's offered in both English and French and uses an in-application format as well as videos. The test on this site covers four basic areas: software environment, such as commands save and print; page layout and formatting procedures, including font and color selections; editing tool use; and use of graphic objects and tables.
WizIQ.com offers three different Microsoft Office tests that vary in length from 10 questions up to 60. For instance, the Microsoft Office 2007 test contains 40 questions and queries the tester's knowledge on objectives such as starting a new paragraph, keyboard shortcuts, formatting and mail merge.
Skills-Assessment.net provides skills tests for Microsoft Word 2003 and 2007. Each test consists of 20 multiple-choice questions with a time limit of 20 minutes to complete. Each correct answer is worth four points, and one point is deducted for each incorrect answer. For that reason, guessing at an answer is not suggested. Grades are provided immediately upon completion.
