Gain access to the members-only section of the website for the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) by becoming a member of the organization. Any woman over 18 who is able to prove a bloodline relationship to any person involved on America's side of the Revolutionary War is eligible, as of 2015.
The DAR acts to preserve American history and further the ideals of those who fought for America's freedom from British tyranny. Its website contains a wealth of information about the organization's founding members and current charitable and historical projects, along with a section that allows members to gain special access to organizational activities and resources. The only way to access to this section of the site is by becoming a member of the organization.
To join the DAR, an applicant must meet the eligibility requirements by being a female who is at least 18 years of age. She must also prove that one of her direct ancestors was involved in the American Revolution as a patriot. Individuals whose ancestors fought for or worked with the British and its allies are not eligible to join. Interested parties must turn in their applications, along with official genealogical documentation supporting the ancestral connection to the war, to a local DAR chapter.
