The D-Link AC3200 Ultra Wi-Fi Router has six antennas for top-notch range performance. PCMag gives this futuristic-looking D-Link an "excellent" rating with 4.5 out of 5 points. The router scores top of the class in range tests and offers a blazing-fast 5-gigahertz throughput.
Like the D-Link, the Asus RT-AC3200 Tri-Band Router also has a futuristic design-style and an impressive 5-gigahertz throughput performance. With its six antennas, the RT-AC3200 maximizes wireless coverage. PCMag gives the Asus an "excellent" rating with 4 out of 5 points.
The Linksys AC3200 Tri-Band Gigabit Smart Wi-Fi Router has a 4 out of 5-point rating with PCMag. The AC3200 garnered an "excellent" rating due to its best-performing 5-gigahertz throughput and smart user interface. This high-bandwidth router is perfect for smooth gaming, video streaming and fast wireless file transfers. PCMag notes that bandwidth performance diminishes slightly at longer ranges.
The Linksys AC2400 and D-Link AC1900 dual-band routers are both priced at approximately $170 and have 3.5 out of 5-point ratings with PCMag. Both models perform well at the 2.4-gigahertz band, but 5-gigahertz throughput is lackluster compared to the higher-priced routers. Also, the D-Link AC1900 shows a throughput drop at greater distances.
