The Nexus 10 is an Android tablet developed by Google that features a 10.1-inch 2560-by-1600-pixel multitouch display, 16- or 32-gigabyte storage, 5-megapixel back and 1.9-megapixel front cameras, 1.7-gigahertz dual-core processor and 2- or 4-gigabyte memory. The tablet comes installed with Android 4.2, but users can upgrade this operating system to a newer version, if desired. The device has a 3.5-millimeter headphone and microphone combo port, a Micro HDMI port and Micro USB 2.0 port.
With a 9,000 mAh lithium polymer battery, the Nexus 10 reports to stay powered for up to 9 hours playing video and 90 hours playing audio. In addition, the tablet comes preinstalled with several apps, including Gmail, Google Chrome, Play Books, Play Movies, Play Music, Play Store and YouTube. The display utilizes Corning Gorilla Glass 2 to help prevent damage.
The Nexus 10 was initially released on Nov. 13, 2012. The tablet is one of many from the Nexus product line. The device was preceded by the Nexus 7 and succeeded by the Nexus 9. Its 2560-by-1600-pixel resolution was the world's highest for a tablet at the time. The Nexus 10 is available in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, France, Spain and Japan.
