Some features of McKesson software, such as Practice Partner and Medisoft, include the Bright Note Technology processing engine, which allows Practice Partner to process chart data from a single point of entry, and documentation tools that let users adapt their data entry methods based on their preferences, be it dictation, templates or speech recognition. Other features include built-in applications that let users handle medical billing and appoint schedules.
The Patient Records application in the Practice Partner software allows health care providers to issue electronic prescriptions. Via its Medical Billing application, Practice Partner reduces time spent on data entry by using electronic remittance and encounter forms. It also uses a coding tool that automatically checks whether claims are in accordance with insurance rules, which results in fewer rejected claims. The Appointment Schedule application supports wave scheduling and double-booking, and it allows access to multiple users at the same time.
Medisoft includes a dual diagnosis list, allowing users to search for ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes, while its mapping tool can translate some ICD-9 codes to ICD-10. The Patient Intake Mobile application that’s part of the Medisoft software lets patients enter new information and modify existing information, allowing Medisoft to automatically validate it and update the patients’ accounts. The software also lets health care providers check patient eligibility before performing a medical service.
