Adobe Creative Suite 6 Master Suite features licenses for 18 Adobe software products, including Adobe X Pro, Photoshop CS6 Extended, Illustrator CS6 and InDesign CS6. While CS6 Master Suite is still available for sale on the Adobe website as of 2015, the Creative Suite series no longer releases new versions.
Adobe Creative Suite 6 was released in May 2012. In May 2013, Adobe announced that CS6 would be the last version of Creative Suite released, as it discontinued the series. The company continues to support CS6 by releasing bug fixes and security updates, as of July 2015.
After discontinuing Creative Suite, Adobe released a new software line, Creative Cloud. This subscription-based software line provides the same media-creation software solutions that Creative Suite did. Creative Cloud also offers software titles that are new to the Adobe brand, such as Adobe Edge and Adobe Muse. It requires an Internet connection to access the software. Users must renew their subscriptions monthly.
Users who want to purchase software licenses individually instead of in a suite package must buy their licenses monthly through Creative Cloud. The cloud service offers 2 gigabytes of included storage space and requires users to purchase additional storage if they have software that exceeds 2 gigabytes.
