EnglishUSA, the American Association of Intensive English Programs, is the only organization in the United States that is an advocate for intensive English programs and program leadership development as of April 2015. A group of intensive English program directors came together in 1986 to create the organization.
EnglishUSA provides information and assistance for students who want to study English in America and keeps intensive English program teachers, administrators and staff well-informed about developments in the field. The nonprofit organization also has a lobbying firm that interacts with the U.S. Department of State, Department of Homeland Security and Congress on behalf of its membership. Policy changes related to immigration, student visas and program accreditation are some of the concerns the organization addresses.
