An easy way to bypass website filters is by using a virtual private network. When connected to a VPN, all Internet traffic passes through the VPN server, which then redirects the traffic to its destination. This allows users to get around connection filtering and access blocked websites.
Web-based proxies let users access blocked websites without having to install any software. When accessing a blocked website through a proxy, a user's browser sends requests to the proxy server, which redirects these requests to the blocked website. If the website filtering happens at the domain name server level, changing the DNS on a device may bypass the filtering and allow users to unblock websites.
