The DragonVale app is a simulation game in which players raise, feed and breed their own dragons. The game is available to download for free from the Google Play Store and iTunes. It was released in December 2015, and requires Android 2.3 or higher or iOS 6.0 or later.
In DragonVale, players raise dozens of dragons on a magical island that they build in the sky. Players have the ability to customize their dragons' habitats using decorations, and they breed hundreds of different species to create new rare dragons. Over time, the dragons evolve into large, more impressive dragons. Players also have to run their own farms to grow treats for their dragons. The game features its own Renaissance original soundtrack.
Backflip Studios created DragonVale to be a social experience. As such, the game supports Facebook so that people can visit other players' parks and trade gifts such as decorations for their islands and dragon treats. Users can also compete in dragon races with other users to win prizes.
DragonVale is a completely free game to play; however, players can purchase some in-game items using real-world money. Parents can keep their kids from making in-app purchases by using the password setting. The game requires an Internet connection to play.
