It is possible to download a book to a Kindle from the official Amazon website, directly from the Kindle device or from a third-party website. Kindle users can also download books that have been previously purchased from the official Amazon website or directly from their Kindle device.
To download a book to a Kindle from the official Amazon website, navigate to the website and log in to the same Amazon account that is bring used on the Kindle. Select the book to be downloaded, select the option Deliver to Your Kindle and click Buy. As long as the Kindle has an Internet connection, the book begins to download immediately.
To download a book to a Kindle directly from the Kindle device, navigate to the Books section found on the homepage of the Kindle. From here, tap Store and find the book to be downloaded. Once the correct book has been found, select Buy and the download will begin immediately.
It is also possible to download a book from a third party website to read on a Kindle. To do this, navigate to a website on the Kindle that allows users to download books in .pdf, .txt, .mobi or .prc format and select a book to download. It is then possible to read the book using the Docs button on the Kindle.
