Downloading applications, or apps, for an iPhone 5c smartphone involves going to the online App Store, selecting the desired app, downloading it and then installing it on the device. The iPhone 5c is part of a series of smartphones developed by Apple Inc. It was released in 2013 right after the iPhone 5 and before the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus models.
When the iPhone 5c was released in 2013 along with the iPhone 5S model, the 5S became the flagship, high-end phone and the 5c was positioned as the mid-range alternative.
The following shows the basic method of downloading apps to an iPhone 5c:
- Go to the App Store
- Search and select
- Choose the app
With an Internet connection available for the iPhone, proceed to the App Store by tapping the App Store icon on the home screen. An Apple ID will be required to be able to download and install apps from the App Store.
After signing into the App Store, tap on the Category icon on the upper left corner of the screen. Select the desired category and begin searching for an app with the desired function.
Once the specific app is found, tap on it. The app will either be free or will need to be purchased. Tap on "Free" or the cost of the app to download it.
Tapping on "Install" will launch the download and installation process of the app. Sign in to the iTunes Store to complete the installation, if prompted.
