Members of Aetna's health care plans may use DocFind to locate providers in their geographical area and according to other search criteria provided. Members can search for a doctor or behavioral health practitioner by name, specialty, languages spoken, gender and medical group or hospital affiliation. Individual hospitals and facilities can also be found by name or location.

DocFind offers detailed information including whether physicians are accepting new patients and if their facilities are handicap accessible. The directory also offers information on participating pharmacies, mental health and substance abuse facilities, urgent care and the National Advantage Program.

Members can also use DocFind to select or change a primary care physician or dentist by selecting the link for Provider Details, then the button for Change PCP. The member fills out a form, and new ID cards are sent to the address on file. Aetna does not guarantee the availability or future participation of the providers listed in the directory; however, the listing is updated six days per week, excluding holidays and Sundays, to maintain current information.
