Straight Talk offers one refillable minute plan of 1,500 minutes without discounts, as of 2015. Its discounts are only available when buying multiple months of its unlimited plans. The discounts range from $1.67 to $3.50 monthly, depending on the number of months the user purchases.
The Straight Talk monthly plan includes unlimited texting within the United States and 100 megabytes of data. The service includes free 411 calls. The unlimited plan includes unlimited nationwide calling and texting, with the first 3 gigabytes of data at its high-speed rate and speeds throttled to 64 kilobytes per second for all other data. While the company provides no-contract service, it allows consumers to set up automatic refills for uninterrupted cellular use.
Straight Talk devices and refill cards are available on the company website or at Walmart. TracFone powers the cellular service and depends on the networks of other providers. It allows subscribers to bring unlocked cellular devices from other providers, but the customer has to buy a new SIM card for GSM phones or pay a fee to verify and activate CMDA smartphones. For devices that are compatible with AT&T's 4G LTE service, Smart Talk offers a SIM card that allows access to the network.
