What Are the Different Models of the Apple IMac Desktop Computer?

Apple has three iMac desktop models: the iMac 21.5?inch, the iMac 27?inch and the iMac 27?inch with Retina 5K display. Each contains an LED-backlit display and comes with an Apple wireless keyboard and magic mouse or magic trackpad, but they vary in size, processor, price and hard drive.

The iMac 27-inch model comes with a 32 gigahertz quad-core Intel Core i5 processor with Turbo Boost. The iMac 21.5-inch has several options available with the smallest option being the 1.4 gigahertz dual-core i5 processor and the largest being the 3.1 gigahertz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor with turbo boost. The iMac 27-inch with Retina 5K display also contains several processor options with the fastest processor available being the 4.0 gigahertz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor.

The iMac 21.5-inch model starts at $1099, while the iMac 27-inch model starts at $1799; the iMac 27-inch with Retina 5K display starts from $1999 and up. Both the iMac 27-inch models come with a larger hard drive than the iMac 21.5 inch, with 7200 revolutions per minute and up to 3 terabytes of storage, compared to 5000 revolutions per minute and 1 terabyte of storage.

Each model comes with four USB 3 ports and two thunderbolt ports. All models also have WiFi, a FaceTime HD camera, Bluetooth and a SDXC card slot. Programs available with each model include GarageBand, Pages, Keynote and iMovie.
