The first Gooseberry Patch catalog came out in 1984. Initially, Gooseberry Patch was a mail-order business that branched into retail sales. The company discontinued its catalog in 2010 due to the economic recession, choosing to focus on its cookbook and calendar publishing wings.
Gooseberry Patch published its first hardcover cookbook in 1992, and as of 2015, the company publishes about 20 cookbooks per year. Available cookbook lines include seasonal, photo and children's cookbooks. Gooseberry Patch also publishes a yearly line of art calendars. The company's sells its products at 4,000 brick-and-mortar retailers, including Cracker Barrel stores, and at online retailers such as Amazon.com.
