To delete e-books from a Kindle device, remove them via the Content Management section on Amazon.com, or delete them from the list of e-books on the Kindle home screen. Alternatively, access the storage drive through Windows Explorer, and remove the e-books from the Documents folder.
Navigate to Amazon.com, and log in with your Amazon account. Click on the Your Account button in the navigation bar, and select the Manage Your Content and Devices option. Access the Your Content section, open the drop-down menu, and select the category that displays e-books among the content you purchased on Amazon.com. Select the e-books you wish to delete, click on Delete, and then select the Yes, Delete Permanently option. Once the state of content synchronizes between your Kindle device and Amazon account, this process permanently removes the deleted e-books, making it impossible to re-download them without purchasing the content again.
To delete e-books via the home screen, tap on the e-book you want to remove, or use the navigation pad in case you have a model that doesn’t feature a touchscreen, and select the Remove From Device option. To remove the e-books you added manually to the device, connect your Kindle to your computer via a USB cable, and double-click on the Kindle device in the My Computer window. Open the Documents folder, right-click on the desired e-book, and select the Delete option.
