When deleting Web browsing history, one method in Firefox involves clicking the menu button to select how much history you want to clear. Although the names may be a bit different, this method should work for most common browsers.
- Find and click on the menu button
Locate the menu button on the top right corner of the browser. It looks like three solid horizontal bars. Click on the button and choose the history icon. You can also find the history preferences from the History button on the menu bar located at the top of your screen.
- Determine how much history to clear
Click on Clear Recent History. A drop-down menu offers you the ability to clear history spanning a few hours or all the websites you have visited since the last clearing was performed. Click on your preference. Clicking on Everything gives you a warning.
- Determine the type of history to clear
Once you click on how much history you want to clear, you get a chance to select which types of history to clear, including cache, log-in information and cookies. Select or de-select the types you want to clear. When you are finished, click on Clear Now to finish the process.
