To create a YouTube account from the website, create a username, upload a photo, connect a social media account and choose categories for videos. Choosing settings, adding information and uploading the first video are the last steps to setting up a YouTube account.
If a Google account is already set up, it is possible to link the account with YouTube and skip the creation steps altogether. If not, a new account option is also available from the YouTube homepage. Since Google and YouTube are one in the same, an account on one serves as an account on the other.
Connecting a social media account is also part of the registration process for YouTube, but it is optional. Another optional step to setting up a YouTube account is choosing video categories. By selecting categories, YouTube recommends channels for users. By clicking the My Channel option, the account is customizable by adding a background and avatar. It is then possible to enter information such as the title and description of the channel and any tags that are necessary.
Edit the channel on the My Channel page and enter information such as another website or location. Once that is complete, it is time to upload the first video by choosing Upload on the My Channel page.
