To create a new Outlook.com email account, go to Outlook.com, click the Sign Up Now link, provide the required details, and then click the Create Now button. By clicking the Create Now button, the user automatically agrees to the Microsoft Services Agreement.
Under Microsoft Username on the sign-up page, a new member can choose a username that ends with “@outlook.com” “@live.com” or “@hotmail.com.” The password should have at least eight characters and contain at least two numbers, uppercase letters, lowercase letters or symbols.
New members are also required to prove that they are not robots by typing the CAPTCHA image displayed on the screen. If the CAPTCHA seems difficult to interpret, click the New button to reveal a new image. Alternatively, click Audio for additional options.
An alternative email address is required, and it has to be different from the one provided for the Outlook.com account. The alternative email is used to recover the Outlook.com account in case the user forgets the initial login credentials.
When Outlook.com requests a security question, the new user can set up a personal question or choose one from the provided list under Security Question. Ensure all required fields are filled, and then click the Create Now button.
