On AlaskasList.com, click on the Post Your Ad button and answer the questions that come up with details about the item or service for sale. It is free to post basic ads, but Alaska's List also offers the option to pay a fee to display an ad more prominently.
Choose the item's location from the list of states. Select a main category for the ad, such as general, farm and garden, rentals, or pets. Choose the most descriptive subcategory from the list. Choosing a relevant subcategory is important because if the ad has an irrelevant subcategory, potential buyers are unlikely to find it. If unsure which subcategory is the best fit, look at some of the listings to see examples of what is generally listed under the different subcategories.
Fill out the ad form with a title, the item's specific location, a description of the item, an asking price and images of the item. Also provide telephone and email contact information for the seller so potential buyers can make contact; this information also helps you manage the ad after posting. Featured ads display with an image and one-line description at the top of the subcategory pages, increasing the number of potential buyers who see them.
