As of September 2015, the Apple Watch retails from $399 for a silver aluminum case watch with a white sport band to $17,000 for an 18-karat rose gold case watch with a rose gray modern buckle. The Apple Watch was released on April 24, 2015.
Developed by Apple Inc., the Apple Watch is a smartwatch that can monitor the wearer's fitness and health status through a heart rate sensor, accelerometer and gyroscope. It comes in three collections: Apple Watch Sport, Apple Watch and Apple Watch Edition. The look of the watch changes through various combinations of cases and interchangeable bands. Integrated with other Apple products, the watch requires an iPhone 5 and higher for many default functions. Despite a lukewarm response by the market, Apple expects to sell from 9 million to 12 million units in 2015. An anticipated operating system software update to watchOS 2 is supposed to fix major bugs.
