To highlight text, place the mouse cursor before or after the text you wish to copy, hold down the shift key and press the arrow key in the direction you wish to copy the text. Once all your text is highlighted, press CTRL+C (copy) and open your second window, and in a blank area, press CTRL+V to paste.
