While there are several methods to converting a movie file to a VCD file, using a web-based solution works across all operating systems. To make the conversion, open a web browser and visit Office-convert.com. Use the site to upload and convert the video file into a VCD format.
- Open the conversion website
Open any web browser on your computer and enter Office-convert.com into the address bar. If you don't already have an account, create one by clicking the Register link and completing the form. Choose the free option.
- Select the output format
From the navigation bar on the left hand side of the page, select the Convert to VCD option. A new page loads that allows you to convert your file.
- Upload your original video file
Click the Add File button. A file viewer appears on the screen where you select the video file you wish to convert. Alternatively, you have the option of converting a video from YouTube. To do this, enter the URL of the YouTube video.
- Select VCD options
From the drop-down menu, select either NTSC-VCD or PAL-VCD. You also have the option to trim the output file by entering a starting and ending time in the text boxes.
- Convert the video file
Click the Start Convert button. The video conversion occurs. This process may take a long time depending on the size of the original video file and the speed of your Internet connection.
