Contemporary ITTS, or Instruction Targeted for TABE Success, is an educational program that prepares adults for TABE, or Tests for Adult Basic Education) This interactive, computer-based system is part of the McGraw Hill Contemporary Learning Series and supports the TABE 9 & 10 levels E, M, D and A.
TABE is the leading assessment of adult basic skills and is approved by both the United States Department of Education and the United States Department of Labor for determining skill level and aptitude, according to a 2009 press release from McGraw Hill. TABE includes tests for reading, math, language arts, science and social studies. TABE is based on several national standards, including the National Council of Teachers of Math, National Council of Teachers of English, International Reading Association and 2002 GED tests.
Through the use of customized learning plans, interactive lessons and assessments, Contemporary ITTS measures student progress and provides remediation lessons when students require additional help. Ideal for self-study distance learning or teacher-assisted lab settings, Contemporary ITTS includes 281 lessons and 716 assessment tests. In addition to assessment and class reports, users can export lesson reports complete with date, time spent and mastery status. Reports can be viewed online, printed or exported as spreadsheets.
