Connect an iPhone to your TV via cable or wirelessly via AirPlay. If your TV supports HDMI, you need an Apple digital AV adapter. If your TV doesn't support HDMI, you need an Apple composite AV adapter.
To connect via HDMI, first plug the digital AV adapter into the iPhone's 30-pin port. Plug one end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI port on your TV and the other end into the HDMI port of the adapter. Next, switch your TV to HDMI input mode. Depending on the model of your iPhone, the TV may show a duplicate of what is on your phone's screen. The display may also be in HD quality.
If you're using an analog TV, plug the composite AV adapter into your iPhone and connect it to your TV via the yellow video cable. Connect the white and red cables to the appropriate ports, and switch your TV to the appropriate composite video input.
To connect your iPhone and your TV wirelessly, first ensure they're connected to same wireless network. Access Control Center on your iPhone, tap Airplay, and tap the name of your TV. The audio and video playing in your iPhone should play on your TV.
