  1. Access the Settings menu

    Power on your iPad, and then tap the Settings icon, which is silver and has an image of gears on it.

  2. Open the Wi-Fi menu

    Click on Wi-Fi, which is located at the top of the Settings menu.

  3. Enable Wi-Fi

    Enable Wi-Fi by tapping the circular button next to Wi-Fi. If the button is green, the Wi-Fi is enabled. A list of networks automatically appears on the screen.

  4. Select a network

    Choose the network you wish to connect to by tapping on the network. Networks that require a password have an icon of a lock next to them.

  5. Enter the network password

    If you selected a network that requires a password, enter the username and password when prompted. Tap the Join button located in the upper-right corner of the screen.

  6. Test your connection

    If you are properly connected to a Wi-Fi network, the Wi-Fi icon appears in the upper-left corner of the iPad. Tap the Home button on your iPad to return to the Home screen. Open the Safari browser, and access any website to test whether your iPad is properly connected to the Wi-Fi network.
