Connect bluetooth devices such as headset to bluetooth-compatible cellphones including iPhones and Android-based cellphones by pairing the cellphones with the devices. To connect a bluetooth device to an iPhone, put the bluetooth device into discoverable mode, hold it near your phone, and go to the Bluetooth settings screen of your phone by tapping Settings, General and Bluetooth. Your iPhone automatically scans for nearby bluetooth devices, and tapping on a detected device listing connects the device to your phone.
Some bluetooth devices require you to enter a security code when you try to pair these devices with an iPhone. The common codes are 0000, 1111 and 9999. Once you enter the code at the prompt, click Connect to pair the device with your iPhone.
To connect a bluetooth device to an Android phone, put the bluetooth device into the discoverable mode and hold it near your phone. Then, go to the Bluetooth Settings of your phone by tapping Menu on the home screen and select Settings and then Wireless & Networks. Make sure that the Bluetooth setting of your phone is on, and tap Scan For Devices to detect nearby bluetooth devices. When the name of the bluetooth device appears, tap it to pair the device with your phone.
