A computer sharing service allows remote access to a computer, thus sharing the computer's screen with two users at the same time. These sharing services are often used for meetings, training sessions and for giving presentations.
Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems all feature available built-in and third-party sharing services. When a meeting is taking place, a sharing service displays the screen feed from one computer to one or more people without those people having to be physically present at the remote computer.
Exercise caution when using a computer sharing program. If unauthorized users obtain remote access to a computer through such a service, they may be able to steal data or install malicious software on the machine.
