The unofficial term used in the computing industry to name the hard disk storage capacity that comes after yottabyte is brontobyte, explains WhatsAByte.com. A brontobyte hard drive has a storage capacity of 1,000 yottabytes.
According to Forbes, industry experts have already coined the term brontobyte, but as of 2014, no official name has yet been announced for future gigantic capacity storage devices. Although brontobyte hard drives already have massive capacities of data storage, manufacturers are already setting their sights to a device than can hold approximately 1,000 brontobytes of storage space. The unofficial term coined for this storage device is geopbyte.
