The Comcast Xfinity service does not offer cellphone plans. However, Comcast offers bundle deals that combine its television, Internet and home phone services with cellphone plans provided by Verizon Wireless.
Though Comcast provides a significant amount of the cable television and Internet service in the United States as of 2015, the company does not own any significant consumer wireless infrastructure with which to provide cellular service. Instead, Comcast provides a Visa gift card worth up to $150 to customers who activate a new tablet or smartphone with Verizon Wireless. The new phone or tablet must be attached to a two-year service agreement to qualify, and the amount of the Visa Gift card is reduced to $50 if the new plan is an upgrade for an existing customer of Verizon Wireless rather than a new subscriber.
The most common Verizon Wireless plans with two-year agreements are the More Everything plan and the Single Line plan. Plans are priced in multiple tiers based on the amount of high-speed data available per month and whether the line includes unlimited talk and text along with data. The price per month is also affected by participation in Verizon Edge, Verizon's financing plan for mobile devices. Customers using Verizon Edge have access to discounted plans, but the additional costs of the device over the term of the contract may exceed the discount for some devices.
