There is no longer a channel for CSS Sports because it shut down on June 1, 2014. The channel launched on Sept. 3, 1999 as a joint venture between Comcast and Charter Communications.
CSS focused on college sports and had to shut down after losing its Southeast Conference programming to ESPN's SEC Network. Approximately 5.5 million subscribers had access to the channel before it shut down. CSS showed both live and tape-delayed sporting events. In addition to college sports, CSS broadcast Women's National Basketball Association, Arena Football League, Canadian Football League, Minor League Baseball and Major League Lacrosse events, as well as select Major League Baseball games through a deal with the Atlanta Braves.
