To change the language from English to German in Windows 7, choose German from the Display Language list in the Region and Languages menu. German is one of the default languages in Windows, so it is not necessary to install any additional language files.
- Open the Control Panel
Click on the Start button, then click on the Control Panel icon to open it.
- Open the Region and Language menu
Once the Control Panel is open, locate the icon named Clock, Language and Region, then click on it. From there, click on the button listed as Region and Language.
- Switch to the Keyboards and Languages tab
In the Region and Language menu, click on the tab marked Keyboards and Languages.
- Located Display language
Find the list marked as Display language, then choose German or any other language from the drop-down list.
- Save your changes
After selecting the appropriate language from the list, click on the Save button to save the changes. Most menus and icons are in German at that point, although it may be necessary to restart the computer for all changes to take effect. If some text still appears in English, it means that program does not support UniCode. In this case, you need to change the system locale, which is also found in the Region and Language menu.
