  1. Open Control Panel

    To do this in Windows 8, move the mouse to the right edge of the screen and click Settings. Then, click Control Panel.

  2. Open the Default Programs menu

    Click Programs in the Control Panel, then click Default Programs to begin making your changes to the programs you use. Choose the Set Your Default Programs option.

  3. Scroll down to the web browser of your choice and set it

    Depending on how many programs you have installed, it may take some time to load the list. When it's complete, scroll through the list on the left-hand side and click the Web browser you want to set as default. From here, set the program as default for all actions, or click the second option and pick specific applications you want to use the browser for.

  4. Save changes and test the program
