T-Mobile and Sprint are the major post-paid carriers that offer plans with unlimited data. Neither AT&T nor Verizon offers an unlimited data option for their post-paid customers as of April 2015.
Pre-paid carriers that offer unlimited data plans include Boost Mobile, MetroPCS, Republic Wireless, Straight Talk and Virgin Mobile. AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon all offer unlimited plans for prepaid accounts.
Some unlimited data plans limit the type of data customers use, throttle data speeds after a set monthly amount is used or both. Examples of limiting data types are restrictions on mobile hotspot use and blocks on online music and video.
