The Pittsburgh eagle cam can be watched by visiting the CBS Hay Bald Eagle Cam website. The live camera stream can also be accessed via the PixController Pittsburgh Bald Eagle website.
The Pittsburgh eagle cam is an initiative of PixController, the Aubudon Society of Western Pennsylvania and telecommunications company Verizon. The initiative uses a Pan-Tilt-Zoom camera with built-in IR illuminators to trace the eagle population in the Pittsburgh area. The camera is located within 5 miles of downtown Pittsburgh, uses a solar-charged battery bank for its power supply and features technology that allows ornithologists to remotely move and zoom the camera and follow the eagles.
