As of 2015, PC users are not able to use the FaceTime application on their devices as Apple has not released a Windows compatible application. FaceTime can only be used on devices operating using the Mac OS or iOS, such as a MacBook or an iPad.
Windows PC users can use applications with similar functions to FaceTime, such as Skype, ooVoo, Viber, WeChat or iMovicha. These applications allow user to communicate with each other through either video calling or video chat.
Apple had previously indicated that the company was planning to make FaceTime an open standard, which would allow developers to create programs compatible with the application for the Windows platform, but has not yet done so.
