To obtain an unlock cone for a MetroPCS phone, the owner should contact the company's customer service or visit a company store to request an unlock code. If the phone qualifies for an unlock code based on the company's phone unlock policy, the owner will receive the unlock code for the phone via email within a few days.
MetroPCS is a prepaid network carrier service in the United States. Its services, which includes talk, SMS messaging and data, are beamed to its subscribers using the T-Mobile network. The company is set to be decommissioned in the second half of 2015.
MetroPCS owners can do the following to obtain unlock codes for their phones:
- Contact MetroPCS or visit a company store
- Verify eligibility for unlocking
- Obtain the unlock code
When requesting for an unlock code, have the phone's assigned mobile number, the account name, the account billing PIN and a valid email address of the owner available.
Upon the receipt of the request, the company's representatives will verify if the phone qualifies to be unlocked. A MetroPCS phone becomes qualified to be unlocked 90 days after it was activated.
After verifying that the phone qualifies for an unlock code, the representative fills out a request. It usually takes 2 or 3 business days for the owner to receive the code via email.
