The Manage Your Content and Devices section on Amazon.com allows Kindle users to manage their accounts, the content on their Kindle devices and the devices themselves. By managing their accounts, users can set up their desired payment methods, while managing the content allows them to remove items from their libraries.
The content management feature provides an option to deliver content to the selected Kindle device, to turn automatic book updates on or off, to return Kindle e-books and to modify the subscription settings for the Newsstand service. By managing the device itself, a user can change the name of the device, use certain features remotely or report the device as lost or stolen.
When modifying the payment method in the Digital Payment Settings section, a user can select an existing credit card or add a new one. Once she enters the desired billing address, the Digital Payment Settings section displays the updated 1-click payment method. To remove items from the library, users should access the Your Content section, select the items they wish to remove and choose the Delete option.
The remote features that users can access through the Manage Your Content and Devices section include deregistering a Kindle device from the user’s Amazon account, setting up a lock-screen password remotely, initiating a reset to default system settings and enabling an alarm remotely in case a user misplaces the device.
