Users can find basic support for the operating system through the Microsoft website. Some electronic stores have in-house support teams that can help with common Vista issues for a fee. Online services, such as 247Techies and Support.com, can connect to a computer remotely to fix a problem.
Support for Windows Vista ended in April 2012 in an attempt to push users to upgrade to Windows 7. Microsoft no longer offers free technical help for Windows Vista users. Users will continue to receive security updates and have the option of paying for support until April 11, 2017. The support for the product and any updates will officially end after this date.
