Free Samsung Galaxy phones are available through wireless carriers. Obtaining one of these phones typically requires a two-year service agreement, and models and availability vary between carriers.
AT&T and Sprint both offer free Galaxy phones as of April 2015. Verizon does not offer any completely free models, but it does sell them for less than $1 with a two-year contract. These free phones are older Galaxy models; typically the newest Galaxy models are not free.
T-Mobile is the only major carrier in the United States that does not offer free or discounted Galaxy phones, as of April 2015. Its customers do not sign service contracts, so T-Mobile sells all of its phones for full price regardless of age.
