The official website for Saab is SaabCars.com. Saab went bankrupt in 2011 and its assets were purchased by National Electric Vehicle Sweden, or NEVS, in 2012. NEVS continued to sell the prebankruptcy Saab 9-3 until 2015, when the company began retooling to produce its newly designed vehicles.
Saab is Swedish car manufacturer owned by NEVS. Originally, Saab was part of Saab AB, a Swedish aerospace company. As the popularity of its vehicles increased, Saab left Saab AB and merged with another Swedish car manufacturer, Scania-Vabis AB.
In 1989, General Motors and Investor AB took control of the Saab division. After its own financial troubles in 2008, General Motors put the Saab brand up for sale. Spyker purchased Saab from General Motors prior to filing for bankruptcy.
