To restore your Toshiba computer to its original factory settings, shut down the computer from the Windows Start menu, and disconnect all external devices such as the mouse, keyboard, and USB hubs. Connect the computer to the power adapter, turn it on, and then press and hold the 0 key.
Release the 0 key when a warning message appears on the screen, and then choose the appropriate operating system from the provided options. If another warning window appears on the screen to notify you that you risk losing all data when the recovery process starts, click Yes to open the Toshiba Recovery Wizard. Select Recovery of Factory Software on the Toshiba Recovery Wizard window, and then follow the on-screen instructions to begin the recovery process.
The recovery process takes approximately 30 minutes to two hours depending on the operating system of your computer, the type of hard drive and the memory. During the recovery process, the computer restarts several times.
The system recovery process removes your personal applications, files and documents and resets all settings to default. If you are not sure of what to choose when prompted to choose a partition or other options at any stage during the restoration process, choose the default or pre-selected option.
