In Windows 8, type “services.msc” into the search box, press the Enter key, and locate Print Spooler from the list of services. Right-click on Print Spooler, and then click Restart on the shortcut menu. Alternatively, go to the lower left corner of the Windows Desktop, right-click on it, and then select Command Prompt from the pop-up menu. Click Yes or a related phrase on the pop-up window if prompted, and then type “net start spooler” to restart the Print Spooler.
In Windows XP, click Start on the Windows task bar, click Run, type “services.msc” into the dialogue box, and then click OK. Right-click on Print Spooler from the list of services, and then click Restart. You can also click the Start button on the Windows XP task bar, select Run, and then type “cmd” into the dialogue box.
