The only way to reset the Kindle Library is to reset the entire Kindle device by choosing the Settings option from the home screen, and then selecting the option to Reset Device. Once the process is over, it is necessary to set up the device again.
A password is necessary to reset the Kindle device if parental controls are on. If the password is not available, alternatively enter the code 111222777. Resetting a Kindle removes all of the personal information in the device including downloaded content and Amazon account information. However, any content from Amazon is still available in the Cloud. When the device is ready to use again, this information is available to download.
If there is content that is not in the Cloud to save, transfer it to a computer, and then transfer it back to the Kindle device when it is reset. To do this, use a USB cord to attach the Kindle device to a computer. Open the Amazon website and browse to the Manage Your Content and Devices section in the account section. Select the option to Download and Transfer via USB, and then open the chosen destination folder. At this point, choose the content to transfer and complete the process.
